Personal Quote: "I'd rather live my life laughing and die the next day than live long without it."

Florida-born, Maryland-raised. I have always loved art: Fine art, digital art, performing arts, musical arts. Although what has always stuck with me through the years are a fondness for fine art painting on canvas and cartoons. And a love for the warmer, carefree times in life.

Throughout high school, I taught myself to paint with acrylic on canvas, and every once in awhile, water color. My teachers taught me how to draw from life, how to see the bigger picture before settling in on details.

Later on, around 9th grade, I discovered this amazing, inspiring, action-packed, STUPENDOUS show called Dragonball Z! My interest in anime and manga started then and had a good influence on me looking into animation as a career. Before Akira Toriyama’s influence, my influences have been Walt Disney, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, and Alfred Gockel. I love the old Looney Tunes and vintage -> 1990s Disney cartoons and movies. They pushed the limit on both humor and animation techniques. Their vibrant colors, slapstick or witty humor, and fluid quality make them beloved classics. Alfred Gockel is by far one of my favorite painters who’s still alive today. His work has life, vibrancy, contrast, and a carefree feeling I strive for in life myself.

All of these influences helped lead me to where I am today. In 2009 I graduated from The Art Institute of Washington in D.C., majoring in Media Arts and Animation. I have learned skills such as Adobe Creative Suite (CS2 and up,) ink and brush on paper, life drawing, story-telling, typography, 2D and stop-motion animation, and storyboards. (I did try my hand at 3D- that was definitely an experience!)

Finally moved back to Florida (Orlando-area) and am enjoying the warmth! Back to artwork. Keep drawing and dreaming your heart away!

Love and Peace!

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry I'm practically never on deviantart anymore. I check it maybe once every few months. Busy with life- caricaturing at Disney, trying to buy a home, helping my husband with storyboards, and whatnot. Check out my children's boo...

In my opinion, there's a line you draw between life drawing/photography and pornographic submissions. Now, I know some will argue that porn is art. In some cases, I agree. But with some of the submissions I've seen, it's just someone taking a quick, run-of-the-mill snapshot of someone holding themselves in sexual poses where it doesn't have any "artistic value." I don't see any special lighting techniques, cropping, unique angles, what have you as well as a lack of emotion. It's just a picture of some guy or gal trying to turn on the viewer. Too me, that's a sad excuse for "life photography" and dumbs down what art can be considered as good
